Amit-Aditi’s Sibling Relation: Love & War
Prateik Babbar had a small-yet-important role playing Genelia’s brother; with it he surely broke the stereotype of a typical – ‘Bollywood Bhaiya.’
Prateik and Genelia portray a realistic sibling relationship in this hit film. It’s not always fun and games—you guys may nothing in common and always fight. Prateik once expresses his jealousy when Genelia is friends with the rest, as he only had her as her sole buddy. But don’t forget that they are the ones who will be there for you, when no one else is. Babbar and D’souza showed the sweet and sour side of sibling’s love perfectly in this film! He does “masti” with her but he is the rock bottom support for her when she gets engaged to that douche-bag Sushant.
Ratna Pathak is the new-age cool mom, who is always all ears up to listen to your romantic link-up. She likes to meet your girlfriend and teaches you to chase love and go a level above the definition of “pyaar dosti hai”. She was funny and we all want at the end of the day, is a mother whose more than friend to us. At that time, the youth used to not discuss about love related issues with their parents but Ratna was a change-maker.
Aditi & Jai’s Character Arc
Genelia is the extreme kind of girl who knows that Jai (Imran Khan) is just her best friend from college. Aditi has her own imaginations related to the masculinity of a man. Jai uses his intelligence instead of his sword, as his genes tell him to do so. Jai is a peace-loving guy but Aditi frames masculinity. She has an extreme fetish for macho men. Aditi is fierce, protective of her clan. She does not want to ruin her relation with her best friend Jai, knowing that she loves him but is in the arms of someone else (Sushant). You walk away easily and you find it okay because most beautiful relations don’t have a lot of words.
Not A Run Of The Mill Love Story
Aditi’s closest squad of Rotlu, Jiggy, Bombs and Shaleen didn’t have a normal love story. They all loved each other but could never express it. That’s how college romance works right? Shaleen is in total love with Jiggy but they remain the best of friends. Jai and Aditi remain as college friends until Jai realizes that he is not happy with Meghna.
Each time I think of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, I know that true love does exist which can bloom into a beautiful love story.
