The sequel to Anubhav Sinha’s 2001 film, Tum Bin is all set to release this week. Starring Neha Sharma, Aditya Seal and Aashim Gulati in lead roles, Tum Bin 2 is a romantic drama. One of the key reasons for the prequel’s success was its popular music. Tum Bin 2‘s music has been composed by Ankit Tiwari.

Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Here’s a look at the music of the film:

1. Teri Fariyad – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Teri Fariyad is a reprise version of the song Koi Fariyad from the original film. While Koi Fariyad was crooned by the legendary singer, late Jagjit Singh, the new one has been recorded by Rekha Bharadwaj. With a few changes in the musical setting too, the song is still high on feel but it still lacks the soulful nature of the original one.

This song also has a extended version which is much better than Teri Fariyad. Jagjit Singh’s vocals are sheer magic and Rekha Bharadwaj brings in her own flavor to this one. This version lasts 10 minutes long but the music is absolutely brilliant in this one.

2. Ishq Mubarak – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Ishq Mubarak, sung by Arijit Singh is the second song from the album. A romantic number, Ishq Mubarak has been penned by Manoj Muntashir who is spot on with his work. Ankit Tiwari’s composition is interesting thanks to the use of multiple of instruments but will not appeal everyone. Also, this song slightly reminds us of ‘Deewana Kar Raha Hai‘. This is certainly not the best songs from the album.

3. Dekh Lena – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Dekh Lena is also yet another romantic song from the film. Singers Arijit Singh and Tulsi Kumar come together for this song. It lacks originality, the musical setting by Ankit Tiwari is quite cliched and one may get several Bollywood romantic tracks on the same lines. Yet, when it comes to commercial viability, this one may get a lot of popularity.

4. Tum Bin – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Tum Bin has been one of the most popular tracks from the 2001 prequel. Very deftly emoted by Chitra Singh, the new version of the song has been crooned by composer/singer Ankit Tiwari. The lyrics have been tweaked and this Ankit Tiwari number is surely stirring. It may not have the innocence and charm of the original one but it still managed to soothe you.

5. Masta – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Masta is an extremely peppy song crooned by Vishal Dadlani and Neeti Mohan. Somehow, it does not blend well with the other songs of the album. Vishal and Neeti succeed in giving the track an energetic boost but I feel the video will play an important role for this song in the film. As an audio track, it is not extraordinary.

6. Dil Nawaziyaan – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Arko whose latest tracks Dariya from Baar Baar Dekho and Saathi Re from Kapoor And Sons were simply heartwarming, comes with a fresh track Dil Nawaziyaan in this album. Sadly, it does not match up to his other works. While the Guitar strumming and other musical arrangements sound great, there is some grave disconnect between the way the song starts and the way it progresses ahead. This could have been one of the better songs in the album, had it blended in the right way.

7. Jaeger Bomb – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

Jaeger Bomb is a party number from the album which has been crooned by DJ Bravo, Ankit Tiwari and Harshad Mad. The song is upbeat and could enjoy popularity at clubs as a party number. Also since DJ Bravo has a good fan following, this song may benefit from it.

Last Word – Tum Bin 2 Music Review

The soundtrack of Tum Bin 2 is not exceptional and neither has the potential to become iconic like its prequel. A few songs are appealing but may not enjoy much longevity. I am going with a 2.5/5 for this album.
