The Khamoshiyan soundtrack is a love-filled album that has songs which are slow, romantic and heart-warming. A kill for this album is its varied song versions which don’t favor the album much and in fact leave the listener a little startled. All in all, composers Ankit Tiwari, Jeet Ganguly and Bobby-Imran do what they know best.

Khamoshiyan – Khamoshiyan Music Review

The title track of ‘Khamoshiyan‘ sung by Arijit Singh is a beautiful composition. This is slow and with its lyrics, the song is quite a treat. Jeet Ganguly and Arijit Singh create this spell-binding number with full charm. The song’s momentum picks up slowly and is a soft rock number. This is one of the best songs from the album.

There is also an unplugged version of this song. Just Arijit Singh singing this song with the actual ‘Khamoshi’ makes it extremely beautiful. This track is as good as the original. Although since I am a lover of songs with a certain calm attached to them, I liked this unplugged version better.

Tu Har Lamha – Khamoshiyan Music Review

Tu Har Lamha is like a déjà vu. There is nothing new in this composition and even though Arijit Singh croons it, the song is not as much enjoyable. It is a soft number that blends with the album but due to its highly repetitive nature and there is a typical feel to it.

Tu Har Lamha also has a remix version to it. There was little need for this track to be included in the album. In fact with the electro dance music, the song completely loses its lyrical beauty. The original is much better, and you can completely avoid this track from the album.

Baatein Ye Kabhi Na – Khamoshiyan Music Review

Yet another Arijit Singh song from the album, ‘Baatein Ye Kabhi Tu‘ is again a slow track which is similar to any song from a Bhatt movie. The lyrics are good and in spite of its monotonous musical arrangements it completely hooks you to it. Also with a singer like Arijit Singh at hand, one can truly create wonders and so somehow the song does turn out to be a saviour.

There is also a female version to this song which has been sung by Palak Muchchal. The female version is much better since Palak completely feels the song and her vocals have the quality to make this romantic track a hit. The Jeet Ganguly composition is surely one of the best tracks from the album.

Kya Khoya – Khamoshiyan Music Review

Naved Jafar croons this track as well as composes it although the song sounds like just another Emraan Hashmi starrer song with its feel. The song bears quite a lot of similarity to ‘Bhula Dena‘ from Aashiqui 2. It will be loved by anyone who is into tracks from Bhatt movies.

Bheegh Loon (Female) & Male and Remix – Khamoshiyan Music Review

Bheeg Loon is a sensuous track. The vocals of Prakriti Kakkar gives a erotic style to her singing. The track has been composed by Ankit Tiwari and he makes use of beautiful pieces of violin and guitar in between. The song has slow beats and it is good as a first hear but lacks the quality to stay with you for long. The song will not really appeal you more than once.

There is also another version of this song which is sung by Ankit Tiwari. Given a choice, out of the two, I found the Female version much better since her voice sounds more appealing to the ears. Ankit composes this song much better than he sings it!

Remixes seem to be completely unnecessary in this album. The Bheeg Loon female version remix is again a waste of your time. I honestly could not bear listening to this remix complete too!

Subhan Allah – Khamoshiyan Music Review

This seems to be a reprise version of ‘Tu Har Lamha‘ and is sung by Anupam Amod. There is just a change of lyrics while the composition remains the same. Although after you have heard the Arijit Singh version, this does not impress you much. In the first place using the same composition twice in the album minus its rock elements didn’t seem like a wise decision for me. This song simply did not work for me.

The Last Word – Khamoshiyan Music Review

The Khamoshiyan album is a treat for those who are fans of the typical Bollywood lovey dovey tracks. The true winner for this album according to me is the lyrics since all the songs have been written with great efforts and kudos to Rashmi Singh, Sayeed Quadri, Abhendra Kumar Upadhyay for that. My picks from the album are the title track ‘Khamoshiyan‘, ‘Bateein Ye Kabhi Tu‘. I am going with a 3/5 for this album.
