Director Anees Bazmee in on a roll with announcing back to back projects featuring our favorite stars. Post Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 with Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani and the upcoming John Abraham’s Pagalpanti, the director is all set to reunite with Ajay Devgn for a remake of Deewangee.

Anees is reviving the 2002 thriller Deewangee which was also his first-ever suspense thriller, and guess what, it was Ajay himself who was keen on the remake. The original featured Ajay Devgn, Urmila Matondkar and Akshaye Khanna in the lead and one thing is for sure, the Singham actor is a part of it!

Confirming a sequel to the film Anees has been quoted by Deccan Chronicle saying, “Ajay has been telling me to remake Deewangee for a long time now because the film was so good and different. Many times, people come to me and suggest to work on that film. It was my first suspense film and very different from what I have been doing over the years, which is why I am thinking about remaking Deewangee.”

Furthermore, regarding Ajay being a part of the project, Anees said, “After so many years, the character will be more mature and strong. I am working on plotting a good story that suits the character, and Ajay will be my actor to play the role in the remake.”

Celebration calls! It will be interesting to see how Anees Bazmee tweaks the script and whether he delivers another success after a string of comedy projects that he’s entertained the masses with.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn is currently busy with Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which also stars Kajol, Saif Ali Khan among others.

Tanhaji is slated for a Jan 2020 release and the first character looks have been raved by the audiences.
