Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the normal daily lives of people have been disrupted and everyone is requested to avoid going out of their home, as a precautionary measure. PM Narendra Modi announced 21-days’ lockdown, which seems to be extended now, to curb the spread of the dreaded virus. Under such circumstances, Doordarshan decided to re-run some classic shows and entertain the audiences, who are stuck in their home. And all out of shows is our beloved Shaktimaan.
The re-run of Mukesh Khanna’s Shaktimaan has been kick-started from April 2nd and the response is simply amazing. While many of us now might be pointing out tons of mistakes or trolling the show for its visual effects and action sequences, the show is something we were crazy for, during its original run. The first superhero entertained us thoroughly during our childhood and is doing so, even today.
Apart from our hero, there were some brilliant negative characters to whom, we just loved to hate. So today, we’ll be recalling some of the evil faces from the show, which made Shaktimaan looked even better.
Take a look:
It remains to be the most fearful and iconic character from the show and probably the biggest enemy of Shaktimaan. Even today we remember the catchphrase by Kilvish in Shaktiman, “Andhera Kaayam Rahe”. It was played by Surendra Pal.
After Tamraj, Dr. Jaikaal was the biggest enemy of Shaktimaan. A scientist by profession, he used to try different methods to destroy the hero. And who can forget that word “Powerrr…”. It was portrayed by Lalit Parimoo.
Shalaka (Kaali Billi)
On her way to avenge her sister’s death, Shalaka cat was one of the characters that scared the hell out of us. It was played by Ashwini Kalsekar.
Chanting those mantras and possessing the power of stealing his opponent’s strength, Kapala was quirky and evil at the same time. The character was played by Faqira.
So what do you think, which character was more evil which made Shaktimaan look better?
