Mirzapur 2: Shriya Pilgaonkar & Shweta Tripathi Open Up On The HUGE Success Of The Show

Mirzapur has been a massive blockbuster series amongst fans. It garnered so much appreciation and popularity that the makers decided to come up with season two of the series. The Star cast of Mirzapur 2 including Ali Fazal, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Vikrant Massey and others had been teasing fans keeping the announcement of the release date suspense. But after the major announcement, fans just cannot keep their calm.
Well, ahead of the release of the web series, the ladies of Mirzapur 2, Shriya and Shweta have been talking about the show and what they feel about the love and appreciation they have received. Read on to know more.
Talking to Bollywood Hungama, Shweta Tripathi said, “The credit’s big part goes to Punit Krishna, who is the writer of the series. He is the king of Mirzapur. Earlier me, Shriya and Vikrant used to have a lot of meetings and discussions about the show, but we had no idea what was in the making.”
The Gone Kesh actress further added, “After looking at all the fan edits, I have realized that Mirzapur has become so big. We are a very small part of that machinery. No matter who is alive and who is there in the show, all these characters will remain very very special for us.”
Agreeing to Shweta Tripathi, her co-star Shriya Pilgaonkar said, “I don’t think we saw it coming. I don’t think we saw this kind of love because its cult following, the show has a cult following. And luckily what I love is that every character has got that love. It is not just Ali and Vikrant; every character has been appreciated even if he or she is in one scene.”
Shriya went on to add, “It definitely changed the momentum of all our careers if I may say so. It is a very big thing for an actor to be known by his or her character names.”
