Khap Review – Direction & Music
Ajai Sinha’s direction is just about okay as it fails to make the film hard-hitting or even soul-stirring or thought-provoking. Annujj Kappoo’s music is barely functional. In a film of this kind, there wasn’t really much need of songs, at least not of the kind the film has. Even the lyrics (by Yogesh, Nida Fazli, Kumaar and Panchhi Jalonvi) are nothing to shout about. Song picturisations (Pony Verma and Habiba Rehman) are too commonplace to be true. Santosh Mulekar’s background score is hardly interesting. Babbu Khanna’s action scenes are functional. Ajit Patnaik’s art direction is ordinary. Camerawork, by Lokesh Bhalla, is functional. Sanjay Sankla’s editing needed to be sharper.
Khap Review – Komal Nahta’s Verdict
On the whole, Khap is a dull and dry drama even though it is well-intentioned. At the ticket windows, it will fail to make any mark whatsoever.
