Backy Lynch revealed that Asuka had not just won the Money in the Bank contract last night, she opened the briefcase and said instead she has won the Raw women’s championship. Becky handed over the title to Asuka and told her to go be a warrior. Asuka couldn’t control her excitement and did a victory lap around the ring. Asuka and Becky  Lynch shared an emotional moment where they hugged each other and then  latter walked out of the ring.

In the first match of the night, Bobby Lashley defeated Humberto Carrillo in a No Disqualification match by submission. Lashley redeemed himself after he messed up in Money in the Bank qualifier match last week.

Just one night after defending his title against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank, Drew McIntyre defeated Andrade in a singles match. Drew pinned Andrade after delivering a claymore kick to his face. After the victory, Drew challenged King Corbin for a match on next week’s RAW.

In other matches of the night, the IIconics returned and defeated Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss via pinfall. The team of R-Truth, Ricochet & Cedric Alexander defeated MVP, Shane Thorn & Brendan in a 6 man tag match. Rey Mysterio & Aleister Black defeated Seth Rollins & Murphy via disqualification, and Shayna Baszler defeated Natalya via pinfall.

The Rated R Superstar Edge returned to RAW for the first time since WrestleMania and addressed the equation with Randy Orton. He said that he’s left that rivalry behind and is moving on now. The Viper interrupted Edge and said that the better man won at Wrestlemania but not the better wrestler. Randy Orton claimed that the match at Wrestlemania was more of a violent fight than a match. So he challenged Edge for a wrestling match at Backlash, leaving Edge in silence. Fans were wondering why Christian didn’t enter this angle as he has a history with both the superstars, but the latest reports suggest that his concussion history might be the reason keeping him out of the action.
