Sonam And Her ‘Raanjhnaa’ To Be Introduced Around Holi

The wait will finally be over for Sonam Kapoor. After an uninspiring Players that came and disappeared more than a year back, the Kapoor scion would soon be back with Raanjhnaa. While there are massive plans being put together for the film’s Summer release, unveiling of the film’s First Look has been planned for the festive occasion of Holi.

Confirms a source, “Yes, the reverse countdown has begun. There are only 20 odd days left for the festival and things are being put together in frenzy. It is an important film for all involved, especially Sonam who is definitely looking forward to a big success to her name. She would be projected in an altogether different light in the poster that would be revealed first. It would be an all new Sonam which would be revealed.”

This is something on expected lines since director Aanand L Rai had managed to bring a turnaround in Kangana Ranaut’s career by presenting her in an altogether different light in Tanu Weds Manu.

“This is the reason why Sonam, after taking sabbatical and applying brakes on signing new films, picked only Raanjhnaa. The makers too have reciprocated and the promotion of the film is bound to surprise one and all”, the source continues.

Another major surprise in store is the re-introduction of lead hero Dhanush for the pan-India audience. Forever being seen as ‘that guy from Kolaveri Di‘, Dhanush is enjoying quite some planning which is being put in place to pitch him as a Hindi film leading man.

“Yes, we have firmed up quite a few things for his Bollywood launch”, states Krishika Lulla, the film’s producer, “We all loved Kolaveri Di but then Dhanush is an actor too. Raanjhnaa would bring that aspect of his to the audience and the film’s promotion would pretty much establish that.”

Can we already see Sonam and Dhanush asking – ‘Holi kab hai, kab hai holi?’
