Work It: Sabrina Carpenter & Jordan Fisher On How Their Dance Film Is Different Than Others!

Work It, a coming-of-age drama-comedy surrounding the dancing world is now streaming on Netflix. The film has an alluring cast- Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy, and Jordan Fisher, who play the lead roles- show off their best moves and along the way finding their passion for the art form.

Sabrina Carpenter, Liza Koshy and Jordan Fisher who are no strangers to having a passion for dance. The star cast opened up on what makes their film different from other dance film released before. They also threw some light whether they will return to Broadway or not.



During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Work It star Jordan Fisher said, “I love to dance and I’ve been dancing for a very long time. To be part of a new kind of culturally defining dance film that’s super, super diverse, that is very character-driven in the way that the arcs of the story and how they [are] all shaped and take place is that it’s really about people, it’s not necessarily about dance, even though that’s kind of vehicle that you are riding in that takes you from point A to point Z.”

While Sabrina Carpenter said that she never expected that she would do a fun dance film in her life and Work It seemed surreal for her. She said, “It even felt like from the table read I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into until we were on set and we were filming. We were doing these numbers and everything just looked so great, and it was so fun and effortless.”

All the three main cast- Sabrina, Jordan and Liza have been known for their acting pursuits. However, there were all trained dancers as well. Koshy, who is known for her viral comedy videos and digital fame, grew up dancing calls herself as “unprofessional professional one.”

Carpenter has been showcasing her skills onstage as a pop artist signed to Hollywood Records for a while. Fisher, on the other hand, was earlier seen in the televised productions of Grease Live!, Rent: Live, and season 25 of Dancing with the Stars with partner Lindsay Arnold. Both actors have also been showcasing their skills on Broadway before the New York theatre district shut down in March due to the coronavirus epidemic. They have now revealed that would love to return to their respective roles once Broadway reopens.
