During an interview with ComicBook.com. Wonka’s director, Paul King, opened up about the possibility of Wonka 2. He said, “It’s definitely something we’re thinking about.” He showered heaps of praise on his producer, David Heyman, who does not feel the pressure to make a movie just because it can be made. The director also hinted at tossing around ideas surrounding the oompa loompas.
Paul King added, “We can wait for a beat, and if we don’t come up with a story, this is a movie with a beginning, a middle, and an end that works on its own, and if we come up with something that we think can be exciting — certainly Oompa Loompas feel like there can be a plural oompa loompas. Of course, there are some ideas sloshing around, but we don’t have a story yet, so we’ll see what happens.”
Wonka at the Worldwide Box Office
The film was made on an estimated budget of around $125 million. Wonka earned $212.61 million on its opening weekend, and it made a whopping $609.11 million globally. On the work front, Timothee will be seen in Dune: Part Two by Denis Villeneuve, which has already received positive reviews from the critics.
