Animated TV series The Simpsons often make news for predicting future. There’s a reason why it’s one of the longest-running series and has a great fan following. But what if we told you that they had predicted the coronavirus pandemic years ago?

The Simpsons predicted coronavirus pandemic in their 1993’s season 4, episode 21 titled ‘Marge in Chains’. While the name of the flu is different, everything else is similar to what we are dealing with currently.

In The Simpsons episode of Marge in Chains, an unknown virus from Asia makes its way into the town of Springfield. In the episode, a sick employee from Japan who works in the factory sneezes into juicers packages. These packages are ordered by everyone – Homer Simpson to Principal Skinner. Whoever had opened these packages, come in contact with the virus and fall sick.
