For the unversed, Chris was a part of the reality show, Dancing With The Stars Australia. The actor participated in the 5th season and landed in Top 5 during his stint. While that may have been a big deal for him, it was exactly what almost lost him Thor’s role.
In an interview with BBC One in 2017, Chris Hemsworth opened up about the same. He revealed all about his conversation with Marvel president Kevin Feige post his audition. Kevin revealed how the team members were impressed with his acting. However, it was his dancing videos that became a turn-off and a worrying cause for them.
Chris Hemsworth shared, “Kevin Feige said that almost lost me the job. He said, ‘We all saw your audition. We’re passing it around the office, and everyone was really, you know, into it. And then, a few of the girls started googling your name and up came this dancing video, and I thought, ‘Oh no. Thor dancing! The fans are going to eat us alive.’”
How the Avengers: Endgame actor finally got the role remains in the past, but we’re glad we found our Thor in him.
Moreover, while makers were worried, Chris Hemsworth’s dancing skills actually turned out to be beneficial for his role in MCU.
“It made me more nimble on my feet. I needed to be with the cape. You might see a bit of that Dancing With The Stars quality in Thor,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Chris will be next seen in Thor: Love And Thunder. The film directed by Taika Waititi is slated for a February, 2022 release.
