Actor John Boyega, who played the role of Finn in the Star Wars films, has slammed Disney of marginalising his character for racial reasons. The actor has accused the production company of marketing Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver’s role as important characters of the franchise. And he was ultimately “pushed to the side”.

During an interview, John Boyega claimed that his role as black stormtrooper Finn faded in the later episodes of the trilogy. He also expressed his bitterness for not developing the character further after ‘The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019.

In an interview with GQ, the 28-year-old actor, John had shared his experience on working on three “Star Wars” movies, which were “The Force Awakens”, “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker”. He said, “What I would say to Disney is do not bring out a Black character, market them to be much more important in the franchise than they are and then have them pushed to the side. It’s not good. I’ll say it straight up.”
