Iman Vellani made her Marvel debut with the Disney+ series, Ms Marvel in 2022. Created by Bisha K Ali, the superhero series also stars Zenobia Shroff, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Yasmeen Fletcher, Rish Shah, Saagar Sheikh, Mohan Kapoor, Nimra Bucha and Aramis Knight. The show received mixed reactions, but Iman’s performance as Kamala Khan won hearts. She played the young, confused, energetic and goofy Kamala remarkably. In 2023, the actress also appeared in The Marvels with Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris.
The Marvels didn’t receive a great response from the audience and critics. The film performed poorly at the box office. However, Iman Vellani’s performance received a positive reception. Whoever has seen the movie knows that Iman’s Kamala brings much-needed enthusiasm to the story. So, will she appear in more movies/series of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? The actress has shared what the MCU team assured her.
In an interview with Polygon, Iman shared, “I have been assured. So that feels good, but there was no more assurance than that. (laugh) They give me breadcrumbs, and I try and make a meal out of it.” Iman was one of the presenters at Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards 2024. The Marvels actress presented the Best Character Design award on the stage. At the event, Iman revealed that Attack of Titan was the first Anime she had watched. She is currently watching One Piece on Netflix.
