Ellen DeGeneres has been making a lot of noise lately. From cost-cutting her employee’s salaries to having trouble in paradise with wife Portia De Rossi, the Finding Dory actress has been going through a tough time, it seems.
A while ago, there were rumours that Ellen is in love with FRIENDS actress, Jennifer Aniston. Owing to the same, wife Portia De Rossi couldn’t stand the Murder Mystery actress anywhere near her wife.
Although there was no official confirmation to the same. Now, if reports are to be believed, Ellen DeGeneres is almost bankrupt amid the pandemic. Yes, you read that right. Her empire is falling down, it seems!
Not just that, her obsession with money is causing problems between the star couple. Apparently, Portia de Rossi is tired of Ellen DeGeneres’s elaborate scenarios. A source according to In Touch Weekly revealed the same and said, “Ellen creates these elaborate scenarios in her head about going broke and Portia can’t take it anymore. This could be the final straw for her.”
In May 2019, Ellen bought a property from Maroon 5’s lead singer, Adam Levine; a plush property worth $42.5 million in Beverly Hills, California. The Love Letter actress is apparently to sell it off for $58 million to survive the pandemic, as claimed by the source.
“She bought it for $42.5 million and has listed it for $58 million, but she won’t get anything close to that. I’d be surprised if she gets $30 million,” the source said.
An unnamed source also revealed that Ellen is trying to sell off her property in Montecito, California, and has already sold 20 of her properties.
“She’s feeling the housing crunch big-time. And she has so much money tied up in these homes, she could go broke!” the source claimed.
Amid the rumours of the Finding Nemo actress cutting her staff’s salary, now there are new reports that states that Ellen is being very cheap and wife, Portia is cutting their house staff’s salary.
“Maybe the prospect of her losing millions on these investment properties caused her to take a hard line at the show. Her reputation took a big hit for the salary-slashing incident and that can hurt the sale of these two properties even more. Having her name attached to something used to be a big plus. That may not be the case anymore with all these horror stories coming out about her,” the source said.
Having said that, Gossip Cop debunked all the rumours made by the tabloid. Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are in a good space and the host isn’t broke at all. After all, her net worth is around $330 million (according to Business Insider), she can sit and chill for generations with this kind of money in her bank account!
