Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Imitation Game is no less than a classic. Right from the acting, background score to the direction, the film is brilliant in every department. Released in 2014, the historical drama is directed by Morten Tyldum.

Based on the life of Alan Turing, the Mathematician genius and cryptanalyst, the film talks about his contribution in decoding German intelligence messages during World War 2 for the British government. At the same time, it hits hard with a sad reality that the ‘war hero’ wasn’t valued by his home country and was made to suffer due to being a homose*ual.

Upon the release of The Imitation Game, several debates took place on the accuracy of the project. Some criticised for exploring less of Turing’s homose*ual side while others bashed for fictionalising some facts. Forget all these major facts, but there was one key thing about Turing’s personality, which was intentionally or unintentionally kept aside by the makers.
