American comedian and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres has been facing a massive backlash on the internet surrounding her workplace toxicity controversy. Several celebrities have come forward in comedian’s defence amid the controversy. Actress Portia de Rossi, wife of Ellen also spoke about how she is coping up with mounting controversy.
The 47-year-old Portia, on Sunday, was seen hiking with her mother Margaret Rogers and her dogs in Santa Barbara, California. Later she, clarified to PageSix that Ellen is doing fine and would be continuing her talk show.
Portia de Rossi has been coming out on walks all alone and we haven’t spotted Ellen DeGeneres in a long time. We wonder if everything is ok between the couple. A while ago, their divorce rumours were also doing the rounds on social media but there was no confirmation given by them or their PR teams.
Recently, Ellen also addressed these allegations herself in a message to her staff through The Hollywood Reporter. She began by saying how she envisioned in her first meeting with the staff that The Ellen DeGeneres Show would be “a place of happiness” where everyone would be treated with respect.
“Obviously, something changed,” Ellen noted, sharing her disappointment she added, “And for that, I am sorry. Anyone who knows me knows it’s the opposite of what I believe and what I hoped for our show.”
“I’ve not been able to stay on top of everything and relied on others to do their jobs as they knew I’d want them done. Clearly, some didn’t. That will now change and I’m committed to ensuring this does not happen again,” the 62-year-old comedian continued.
