No one really dies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe says Carrie Coon. We have seen numerous of them reincarnating and rejoiced their comeback. Talking about one such possibility, and how she was approached for Avengers: Endgame even after dying in Avengers: Infinity War is Coon. The actor played the baddie Proxima Midnight, and here’s what she has to say.
Carrie Coon’s Proxima Midnight for the unversed was the character who helped Thanos find the infinity stone. Later she was vanquished by Scarlett Witch played by Elizabeth Olsen. The actor recently opened up her ‘secretive’ audition process and how she was approached for Endgame.
As per Carrie Coon, after dying in Avengers: Infinity War, she was approached by the famous Russo Brothers for the Avengers: Endgame as well. But the actor had to let go of the offer due to date issues. She spoke about all this in an episode of Couch Surfing.
Carrie Coon talking about her audition said, “I got a voice-over audition; it was not specified what the project was. They were being very secretive about it, but I was given some of the lines that did end up being in the film. [The Russos] were excited about the possibility of me actually physicalizing the character as well, and they invited me to come down to Atlanta. I was pregnant and doing a play at the time, so I flew down and was on set with them for about 12 hours.”
Though Carrie Coon’s Proxima Midnight did have a blink and miss appearance in the Avenger: Endgame, but this time it was played by Monique Ganderton. But as per Coon, she feels we cannot count her comeback as of yet.
“No one ever dies. It’s very possible I could have my own Avengers movie next. But I wouldn’t hold your breath,” Carrie said.
