It was his brother Jonathan, also a filmmaker, who gave him the idea of the movie about a man with anterograde amnesia who uses notes and tattoos to hunt his wife’s murderer. Memento was nominated for the Oscars in the Best Original Screenplay category. In 2005, he tried his hands in the comic book superhero genre by doing Batman Begins, followed by The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises. These films were commercially successful at the box office.
