The Rental Box Office: Dan Stevens & Alison Brie Starrer Horror Continues To Garner Screams In Its 2nd Weekend

Its pandemic and theatres are closed all over the US. But a few films have managed to get a small release thanks to the Comic-Con festival. Dave Franco’s ‘The Rental’ is one such film which opened last week and topped the chart by collecting $421 K at the selected 251 properties in the first weekend.

The Rental continues to collect even in the second week as the total has now reached $889 K approx.

According to Box Office Mojo, The Rental collected $70,228 on August 2 thus taking the actuals to $888,783. Considering the way, the film is going on it will soon cross $1 million mark which is okay considering the situation the world is in right now. Also, the per day business of The Rental on Sunday was again best compared to all other releases on that day. The Rental stars Dan Stevens & Alison Brie in lead.

Apart from The Rental, other films like The Big Ugly, Summerland, Relic & The Wretched have done a total business of $319 K, $29 K, $1 million & $1.79 million respectively.

Meanwhile, theatres have opened in China where Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and Robert Downey Jr. starrer Dolittle have re-released. While Interstellar recorded the biggest opening day i.e. $2.8 million since the comeback of films, Dolittle released and topped for the 2nd weekend at the China box office. In just ten days, the movie now stands at a total of $11.8 million.
