It has helped the film that it carries name A.R. Murugadoss as the director. He is the most experienced of the lot when compared to the other filmmakers who have made aforementioned movies. Moreover, the director has the legacy of two 100 crore films behind him [Ghajini, Holiday] which has helped in better credentials as well. That said, on the flipside this one is a female centric film and that too with an action theme, something which has not been explored by many filmmakers as well as actresses.

The 30 crore film has recovered more than half its investment already through sales of satellite and music rights, hence a good Week One can take it past the recovery mark. Hence, the film needs to see some sort of decent growth for rest of the weekend. It would be interesting to see how masses scale up the film’s collections in days to come since the film is primarily targeting that set of audience.

Three other releases of the week, Yea Toh Two Much Ho Gaya, Sunshine Music Tours and Travels and Island City, have been non-starters. That said, Island City has seen better reviews from select critics.
