Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan starrer Shaitaan surpassed expectations in the opening weekend and maintained a stronghold during the weekdays. But the equation seems to have slightly changed with decreased screen counts at theatres nationwide. Scroll below for updates on early trends and detailed analysis after the arrival of Yodha.
Vikas Bahl directorial hit the theatre screens on March 8, 2024. There was little to no competition at the box office. It would be safe to say that the horror thriller made the most of the freeway. It has crossed the 80 crore mark at the box office and is fast forwarding towards the 100 crore milestone.
Shaitaan vs Yodha at the box office
Sidharth Malhotra and Raashii Khanna starrer Yodha hit the theatre screens yesterday. The film managed a decent pace in terms of advance booking, but the early reviews were favorable. The action thriller also took a chunk of screen counts from Shaitaan. But despite all the factors mentioned above, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan‘s film held its fort.
Trending
As per the early trends flowing in, Shaitaan brought in box office collections in the range of 4.40-4.80 crores on day 8. Yes, this is the first time that the film has gone below the 5 crore mark since its release. But given all the challenges, it has managed to accumulate a promising number. If that’s not enough, Ajay Devgn’s film, on its eighth day, has recorded better numbers than Sidharth Malhotra’s Yodha on its opening day.
The 8-day total will now stand somewhere between 86-86.40 crores.
Saturday and Sunday are expected to register a huge jump in collections. There definitely is competition from Yodha, but the genres are different. So, there is scope for both films to grow individually at the ticket windows.
More about Shaitaan
