Aamir Khan’s Secret Superstar has been continuing its victorious march at the China Box Office. After opening to an earth shattering numbers, this film has crossed the USD $ 40 Million mark in China. Let’s see where the movie is currently standing over there.
After completing a brilliant first weekend post bagging a humongous amount of USD $ 27.35 million in its kitty, Secret Superstar is marching towards that 50 million mark in full speed. Aamir Khan is on his way to attain a position in Asia which would be hard time for anyone on the continent to aim for. Not just Bollywood, with Dangal, PK and now Secret Superstar, Aamir has proved how China is one of the best markets to explore for a Bollywood film.
Adapting on-point marketing strategies, Aamir Khan has upped his game with Secret Superstar. The movie has collected USD $ 4.41 million on its 1st Wednesday and now stands at the grand total of USD $ 41.66 million at the China box office. It has not even yet completed its 1st week and has already collected huge.
It would be interesting to see whether or not it will enjoy the trend Dangal did last year. Jump on 2nd weekend and stability over weekdays is a must if it wants to go anywhere near Dangal.
“Can’t wait to watch it. Indian movies also do well in China thanks to the poor quality of Chinese films,” said an official of a big conglomerate in China.
“That’s why China does not allow every foreign movie to release because good movies will destroy its film industry,” the official, who didn’t want to be named, told IANS.
Wary of outside influence, China has a quota on the number of overseas movies that can be screened in the country each year.
