Aamir Khan’s production Secret Superstar not only earned rave reviews in the country at the time of its release but after hitting the screens in China—it has become a money-minting venture in the faraway land as well.
After the mind-blowing business of Dangal, Now, with yet another Aamir Khan film has released in the neighbouring country and the response is ecstatic. Although, Aamir is not playing the lead role in the film yet it has set the Chinese box office on fire.
The movie has collected a total of $ 59.14 million (376.09 crores) at the Chinese box office. The film stands with a worldwide collection of 526.09 crores, earning 80 crores at the Indian box office. The movie has been earning well overseas and it has turned out to be one of the best movies. As we all know Aamir has a big fan following in China and we can see that clearly because of these numbers.
Secret Superstar got ten nominations at the 63rd Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director for Chandan, Best Actress for Wasim, and Best Supporting Actor for Khan.
It won three Filmfare Awards, including Best Actress (Critics) for Zaira Wasim, Best Supporting Actress for Meher Vij, and Best Playback Singer (Female) for Meghna Mishra.
Secret Superstar stars Dangal girl Zaira Wasim in the lead while Meher Vij, Raj Arjun, and Aamir Khan play pivotal parts. The film is written, directed by Advait Chandan, and produced by Aamir Khan, wife Kiran Rao.
After Aamir Khan, it will be Salman Khan’s turn to try its luck in China. His 2015 film Bajrangi Bhaijaan will open across 8,000 screens in China on March 2.
