It isn’t very erroneous of us if we place tall hopes from Superstar Salman Khan in terms of box office. The actor might have gone through several drops in his professional life, but there is no denying that if any actor has moulded the mass-oriented films with aplomb, it is Salman Khan. Multiple trade insiders are doing the hush hush talk about Salman’s Jai Ho to hit it off easily what Dhoom 3 fell short of attaining – an unimaginably gigantic 300 crore club.
Surely this is quite a daunting task for any star irrelevant of how glitzy his enigma is. But for Salman it is quite a cakewalk, as he has been ruling at the box office since 1994. Amidst all the talks of 200-300 crores happening, if the box office earnings of classics are collated it turns out that Salman’s Hum Aapke Hain Koun was the highest box office earner in terms of inflation adjusted figures.
Though, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge ran for much longer than the former, HAHK in its heydays earned a little over 69 crores when it released way back in 1994. After adjusting the inflation and the valuation of INR, the film’s box office income comes to an unimaginable 354 crores. So even if Salman enters the 300 crore club with Jai Ho, it won’t be anything new for him as the actor has been the king of box office on and off.
While many argue that Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was a bigger hit, the film that had earned a whopping 61 crores in those days has been valued at a little over 301 crores after adjusting inflation.
Salman’s box office win was prevalent since his early days. Surprisingly even Maine Pyaar Kiya had made 14 crores in its times which was mesmeric given the era in which it was released had fewer cine goers and theaters were lesser in number.
So all the Salman Khan-Shah Rukh Khan fans who have the row over who will make 300 crores faster, the answer is – they both have already made 300 crores respectively. Salman just won by a wider margin because the Baadshah reigns the heart and Mister Dabangg makes sparks fly at the box office.
