After the blockbuster success of Teja Sajja’s HanuMan, Tollywood has had no noteworthy success this year. Thankfully, now, the latest release, Gaami, has performed much beyond everyone’s expectations at the worldwide box office. It seems that the film has received blessings on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Keep reading to know more!
Reception of Gaami
Directed by Vidyadhar Kagita, the adventure drama received mostly positive reviews from critics and audiences. This positivity helped in posting a solid total on the opening day as the footfalls picked up during evening and night shows. Otherwise, with mixed reactions, the film could have stayed within the limit yesterday.
Gaami at the worldwide box office
Released in theatres yesterday, Gaami has earned an estimated net collection of 4.70 crores on day 1 in India. This is a good start in the domestic market. In overseas too, the film recorded an opening by earning well over $250K from North America alone, as per Track Tollywood’s report. Combining all circuits, the worldwide box office collection for opening stands at 9.07 crores gross. It is the biggest opening for Vishwak Sen.
In the Nizam region, the share is said to be around 1.5 crores. Telugu states share is around 3 crores. The worldwide share of the film is said to be around 4.5 crores.

Apart from Vishwak Sen, Gaami also stars Chandini Chowdary, Abhinaya, Mohammad Samad, and Harika Pedada. It is produced by Karthik Sabareesh and Swetha Moravaneni.
The advance booking reports for today and tomorrow are strong, and considering the small budget, the film is expected to emerge as a big success in the coming days.
Tollywood box office in 2024
The Telugu film industry started off really well this year, with HanuMan emerging as the Sankranti winner and enjoying a blockbuster collection. It clashed with Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram and ended up earning almost 300 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Post that, noteworthy releases like Naa Saami Ranga and Saindhav tanked at ticket windows.
