The dismal opening of all the films released last weekend sent shock waves in the industry. Collections were so disastrous that the films may find it difficult to pull on for the whole week. As it is, shows of different films in different cinemas had to be cancelled on the first day itself due to absence of audience.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, released on 10 February 2012, shook the confidence of the trade when it opened to very ordinary houses. However, collections jumped up from Rs. 5.25 crore on Friday to Rs. 7.25-7.5 crore on Saturday, bringing cheer in the industry. The love story performed even better on Sunday (Rs. 8.5 crore). Collections dropped on Monday (Rs. 2.5-2.75 crore) but picked up again on Tuesday (14 February, Rs. 4.5-4.75 crore) on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. The net all-India total for the entire week was around Rs. 32.5-32.75 crore, a supremely satisfying figure considering that the first day had ended at just Rs. 5.25 crore.

The film has performed well in only the big cities, that too, mainly in the multiplexes but it has still managed an impressive figure. The opening in Overseas was the best for an Imran Khan starrer. With no new release of this week faring well, the weekend belonged to Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

With Gali Gali Chor Hai not being able to do well in its first week, hopes for its performance in the second week were zero. And it lived down to those hopes, faring miserably in its second week.
Journey 2 – Ajab Dweep Ki Ghazab Kahaani (dubbed) did average business in 2nd week. The original English film, Journey 2:The Mysterious Island, fared better than the dubbed version.
Agneepath may have come down quite a lot in the third week but still, it yielded shares from most of the centres and cinemas.
Players ran in the cinemas, yielding as good as negligible shares in the sixth week.
Like Players, Don 2 also just trudged along in its eight week.
