Audiences are excitedly gearing up Chennai Express already. With just one Friday to pass in between, the gripping SRK fever is already becoming irresistible for the audiences. But the box-office currently is under the reign of Farhan Akhtar starer Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which within its 2 week run at the domestic box office has already made an earning of 79 crores approximately.
Even after 2 weeks at the domestic box office, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag remained undeterred at the domestic box office. Content wise, even last week’s D-Day was fabulous and had lavish, sleek action to aide it. And Ramaiya Vastavaiya got in the flavor of what popular cinema stands for. However, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is steadily holding on to solid collections. The film has stayed undeterred for the last few weeks and has been collecting at a stable daily rate.
If the film collects according to the trade estimates expected of it, there is a strong chance that in the next two weeks the film might make another 20 crores and join the 100 crore club even before Chennai Express releases. However, in case the film’s income records a drop the chances of the same will get faint.
This week’s releases have been disappointing and it is a well known trivia in Bollywood that if a film is flaky entertainment wise, there is a remote chance of it performing too well at the box office.
For Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to join the 100 crore club, the film must make 2 crore on an average daily and 20 crores in the next fortnight. In case, this Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film does tread into 100 crore club, the film will be the club’s 21st film and this year’s 3rd entry after Race 2 and Yeh Jawaani hai Deewani.
