Sanam Teri Kasam had low collections on the opening day, which was pretty much expected considering new actors on the board. That said, the film was not a complete non-starter as the footfalls were at least decent to some extent. With around 1 crore coming in, the film is much better than many other romantic films with newcomers that release practically every fortnight, if not every week. Also, what is notable is that the collections are on the same lines as last week’s release Saala Khadoos (1.28 crore) which was much more heavily promoted and carried a much better face value.
The reviews for the film aren’t exciting though, which means it would all boil down to word of mouth. If youngsters catch fancy of this melodramatic tale and lap it up for the music, Sanam Teri Kasam could manage a decent one week run.
Meanwhile, Airlift has now entered into its third week. The film brought in 2.03 crore on Day 15, which is an excellent hold as it has improved over Day 14 [1.99 crore] despite reduced number of shows. With this, the collections now stand at 114.32 crore. There would be further jump seen today and tomorrow though since Ghayal Once Again hasn’t exactly taken off on a flyer. Since the Akshay Kumar starrer is enjoying good patronage from the family audience and the word of mouth is continuing to be strong, Airlift would comfortably go pass the 118 crore mark before entering the weekdays. Superhit!
Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
