Venkatesh Daggubati and Trivikram Srinivas are gearing up for the release of the Telugu drama, Aadarsha Kutumbam. The director-actor combo has been much hyped as the two reunite after 20 years. The film is touted as a wholesome entertainer with fun, action, and more. The film’s advance box office bookings have begun ahead of its October 30 release.
Trivikram and Venkatesh‘s combo should have led to a box office storm. However, the collections in North America have begun on a rather disappointing note. With just 3 days left until the USA premiere, the film’s pre-sales are only in the $40 K range. That is very poor for a film featuring this combo. Ideally, the film should have a premiere of at least $1 million. However, at the current pace, $500K seems like a stretch.
The film has been listed at 92 locations, resulting in 196 shows. With 3 days left, the film has sold only 2,027 tickets. Reportedly, the film has to earn $500K to achieve the break-even mark at the North American box office.

Aadarsha Kutumbam may primarily be suffering from limited pre-release buzz. There haven’t been many promotions for the film, so people may not even know about its release. Add to this the immense confusion surrounding the film’s release. It was initially scheduled for release on October 2 and was postponed by a week. Finally, the makers confirmed the release date on Dussehra, just 10 days before the big day.
The film’s music by S. Thaman has also not quite landed. Two songs from the film have been released so far. The first one received a mixed response, while the second one was met with negativity. Now, the film has to rely on strong word-of-mouth from premiere screenings.
More About Aadarsha Kutumbam
Speaking about the film, Aadarsha Kutumbam features Srinidhi Shetty as Venkatesh’s wife and the female lead. The film also stars Nara Rohith, Nivetha Pethuraj, Yuvina, Raj Prajwal, Rao Ramesh, Satya, Brahmaji, Vennela Kishore, and Raghu Babu in key roles.
This is the first time Trivikram has directed a film featuring actor Venkatesh in the lead role. Although Trivikram has not directed a film with Venkatesh before this project, he has worked as a writer with the actor.
In fact, Trivikram penned the story and dialogues for the superhit film Nuvvu Naaku Nachav, which was directed by K. Vijaya Bhaskar and featured Venkatesh and Aarthi Agarwal in the lead. The film also marked Aarthi Agarwal’s debut in Telugu cinema.
