The infamous Ram Gopal Varma-Sanjay Dutt feud is throwing many more skeletons out of the closet than one could have imagined. With the director revealing that he was asked to remove Kangana Ranaut from Department, here is more. According to our well placed sources, this wasn’t the only film where powers-to-be tried their game of influence. There is talk that Kangna Ranaut was given hints to not do Shootout At Wadala (given the old rivalry between Sanjay Gupta and Dutt) but by that time the girl had smartened and chose not to pay heed to such ‘suggestions’.

“When Kangana’s name was announced as the female lead opposite John Abraham for the Sanjay Gupta multi-starrer, she found herself in the middle of a ‘conversation’ all over again. Though it would be futile to discuss who carried out that conversation and what was the tone of it, the fact remains that Kangna didn’t stop and went right ahead and signed the film,” says our source.
Kangana Ranaut In Rascals
This happened at the time when Kangana had lost favours from the Dutt camp, and post Rascals, there was no other film that that camp had to offer her.
“She politely excused herself even though she was aware that with this move, she was fairly and squarely losing chances of reviving ties with the Dutt camp,” the source says while adding, “Moreover she knew that with Ekta Kapoor as the producer on Shootout At Wadala, she would get solid support and backing and had nothing to fear. Kangana was also keen to work with Balaji with whom she last did Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. “
Meanwhile for Sanjay Gupta, enough has been enough as he feels that much water has flown under the bridge and it is time for everyone to move on.
“Really, till when would we continue to talk about the same old things! I have nothing to say! I am happy to be back in action and with Anil Kapoor, John, Tusshar, Manoj and Sonu on board along with Kangana, I am not even thinking about who stopped who and who said what. It’s all inconsequential. I’m enjoying the process of making Shootout at Wadala“, says Sanjay Gupta. “It’s my best work till date,” he adds.
