Vidya Balan is at her career best. Once targeted for her fuller figure and dancing – the lady is now staring in her very first item number in Ferrari Ki Sawaari.
The item number Mala jau de is an authentic lavni song and stars the gorgeous Balan in traditional Maharashtrian attire. After three weeks of extensive rehearsals with a troupe from Kolhapur, Vidya Balan is pleased with the results. Says an insider, “Although green is the traditional lavni color, (director) Rajesh Mapuskar chose red for Vidya to showcase her as a flame among men.” The insider adds, “Everyone including (producer) Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajesh Mapuskar think the song is filmed to perfection. But Vidya and Rajesh want to hold the first screening of the song for authentic dancers to gauge their reactions.”

Rajesh Mapuskar confirmed the development saying, “Yes, we want the song to look absolutely traditional. We are in talks with some lavni dancers from regarding the first screening.”
