The Attacks of 26/11 is all set for release and while Ram Gopal Varma promises that the film would be as close to reality as it gets, one of the many people whom the filmmaker met and really helped him crack the happenings from the real life attack is a cop himself. His name is Jitender Joshi Nalawade and he was present at the CST at the time when terrorists were shooting at the platform.
“Nalawade was one of the key forced behind narrating what really happened at the CST”, informs a source, “He took Ram Gopal Varma though the minutest details and turned out to be a very good help. Both of them spent a lot of time together and discussed quite a few aspects of the real time shooting which took place at the station.”
In fact an otherwise emotionally strong Ramu was troubled by the poignant tale that Nalawade had to narrate.
“He mentioned everything about the sounds that he heard to the point where he slipped on the blood that was all over the floor”, says Ramu, “He didn’t even know that blood was so slippery and couldn’t contain himself. He couldn’t believe that something like this was happening to him. It was really poignant for him.”
A couple of other guys who helped Ramu crack the series of events were the ones who were present around the Leopold Cafe, another location where terrorists had struck.
“They told me that while terrorists were spraying bullets with their AK47s, a couple of cops encountered them with stones that were lying on the road”, says Ramu, “Since they were not carrying any guns, it was very courageous of these cops to tackle terrorists in such a manner. See, there are so many of such episodes that you have never read about since they are not a part of the investigative process. This is something that I gained after sitting with people who were there and had one to one discussions on a personal level. This has really worked in bringing some true real elements into the film.”
