For a country referred to as one of the largest democracies of the world, there could not have been a more shameful day than today. When the so called “Responsible leaders” were busy defending themselves and accusing each other for the law and order, the Delhi Rape Victim, who was recently shifted to Singapore, passed away.
The question here remains will the country rise after this or will this be another forgotten story with no end? With the awareness and reach of Press & Media and social networking sites, the common people, celebrities, and everyone seems to have become more aware of the country’s situation. All except the ones whom we expect to be aware.
Some refer to Bollywood as a selfish industry with no moral or social responsibility. However, the fact is quite clear by the tweets flowing in.
The death of the Delhi gang-rape victim in Singapore shocked Bollywood, with Shabana Azmi urging the country to “wake up” and combat violence against women. The film fraternity took to Twitter to express its indignation over the gang-rape and her death after 13 days of struggle.
