Gauri Khan is superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s wife, who manages to be engaged in a lot of things to keep herself busy throughout the day. Gauri started exploring her passion for work first by handling her husband’s wardrobe in movies like Ram Jaane and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She then moved on to manage Shah Rukh’s production house and his IPL team. She also made a debut in the silver screen by appearing in an advertisement with hubby, SRK.
It was just last year that Gauri also launched her own furniture collection in collaboration with Suzanne Roshan in her store, The Charcoal Project.
Bollywood’s Greek God, Hrithik Roshan’s childhood sweetheart and wife, Suzanne Roshan is a pro when it comes it interior designing. Suzanne studied interior from the Brooks College, Long Beach, California and now operates a boutique in Mumbai, called House of Design Store. She also started her own interior designing store, called The Charcoal Project in collaboration with Gauri Khan, who later joined the league.
And she doesn’t stop here. It was just recently when Suzanne launched a website selling her products online called, The Home Label.
Married to the perfectionist Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao has a brief connection with Bollywood. Aamir and Kiran met on the sets of Lagaan, where Kiran was working as an Assistant Director. They later got married and Kiran still kept following her dream. She made her dream debut as a director in Dhobi Ghat. The film was highly praised by critics.
Twinkle Khanna who is married to Akshay Kumar, gave up her career as an actress to pursue her dream of becoming an interior decorator. The actress took her first step in business by joining her mother, Dimple Kapadia in her candle making business. She then started her own interior designing store, The White Window in Mumbai.
We can say that her decision of departing acting was accurate, as her designing skills also won her the prestigious Design Award for her contribution in interior designing. The actress is also involved in producing movies in her husband’s production house, Hari Om Productions.
Farhan Akhtar may be an all-rounder, but his wife Adhuna Akhtar is no less. Adhuna is one of the country’s best hairstylists. She has successfully opened 17 salons across India and is also planning to spread her reach to Dubai now. Farhan too prefers getting a hair-cut from his wife rather than anybody else.
Suniel Shetty’s wife, Mana Shetty has her hands filled with a number of businesses. She operates a chain of hotels and also has ventures in fashion and construction business. She recently opened her own interior designing store in Mumbai, R-House and will soon be coming up with her and Suniel’s construction company, S2’s second venture, called Discover in Khandala. The venture will have 21 villas spread over an area of 6,500 square feet each.
Apart from all these business, Mana also engages herself with NGO’s for the deprived children.
Bobby Deol’s better half, Tanya Deol comes from one of the elite families of the town, the Ahujas. However, Tanya managed to make her presence count by starting he own furniture and home accessories store ‘The Good Earth’.
Even though her hubby Sanjay Kapoor, couldn’t make it big in Bollywood, the wife is definitely making it big in business. Maheep chose a different path of success by engaging herself in jewellery designing. She is one of the top names in jewellery designers and her jewellery has been used in popular movies like Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Om Shanti Om.
Mehr Jessica was a renowned name in fashion industry. Mehr was a former supermodel, who was considered one of the top models of the 90’s. However, after getting married to Arjun Rampal, she retired from modeling and stepped into business. She opened her own modeling agency and turned producer too. The former model also runs a nightclub, LAP in the capital.
