The Mumbai Court today postponed the trial of Salman Khan’s hit and run case, which will now be heard on 8th April. Since the case is now facing fresh trial, availability of witnesses is important for the progress of it. As per reports of a leading news daily, three crucial witnesses were absent today which led to the adjournment.

Salman is facing trial for a heavier charge as the prosecution could successfully press charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, on the actor. He was earlier charged with Death by negligence in the 2002 case when a near sloshed Khan drove his SUV onto a pavement in Bandra injuring 5 people and killing one.

Police constable Ravindra Patil who was also present with Khan at the time of the unfortunate accident stuck to his statement that the actor was repeatedly warned by him to not drive in the heavily drunken state. Patil was on duty with Salman because way back in 2002, the actor was constantly faced with underworld threats. The case ‘s next hearing is on 8th April. Salman, who is neck deep in work with his upcoming film ‘Kick‘ being on the verge of wrap up, the actor is taxed with the proceeding of his decade long case.
