Superstar Salman Khan has been summoned by the court to appear personally on 29th January. The actor who has been accused of killing the endangered chinkara during the shooting of his film Hum Saath Saath Hain in 1998 in Rajasthan has already been jailed twice with regards to this case (once in 1998 and then again in 2007).
The actor will today appear infront of a Jodhpur Court to record his statement in the Arms Act Case that frames him under the charges of two chinkara deers and a blackbuck. Though the magistrate had kept Khan exempted from attending the court proceedings, today Khan has to be there in person to present his side of the story.
In March 2013, fresh charges were recorded against Salman in the Rajasthan High Court. However, as per Supreme Court ruling, section 148 cannot be applied to the case.
Amongst the co-accused in the case were actors Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre who have been charged with inciting the actor in the same case.
