Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone may have had their share of fun at Ranbir Kapoor’s expense on Karan Johar’s talk show, but that doesn’t look like the end of it. Rishi Kapoor is reportedly miffed at both the beauties for making his son the butt of their jokes. And it doesn’t end there. Rishi is also blaming Karan Johar for instigating the girls with their jokes!
How it began
Karan Johar invited Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor in the third season of his show ‘Koffee With Karan’. The girls were on a roll once Karan posed his questions and Deepika made no effort to hide her disdain for the latest Kapoor star. While Deepika suggested a box of condoms as a gift for Ranbir, Sonam chided him for his dressing style. Both actresses gave Ranbir thumbs down when it came to sex-appeal. In fact, when Sonam said, “Ranbir isn’t sexy, he’s the kind of guy you would take home,” Deepika sarcastically shook her head. Sonam burst into laughter and retracted her statement.
What’s the history?
Lots. Ranbir Kapoor was linked to Sonam during the shooting of their debut film Saawariya but the rumours died soon after. Ranbir and Deepika, on the other hand, were quite open about their relationship, but things didn’t work out between the two either. Deepika even got an ‘RK’ tattoo on her back when they were together.
Payback time?
If you think Deepika was too mean about Ranbir, think again. While Ranbir was on Karan’s show before Deepika, he was asked to give some advice to Siddharth Mallya. Pat came the reply, “Take some badminton lessons!” Deepika, who has refused to talk to the media about her private life after her break up with Ranbir, has always maintained that the junior Mallya is her “good friend”. This, despite the fact that the couple has been seen together at many events for quite some time now.
And about daddy Rishi and mummy Neetu’s ire at the girls: take it with a pinch of salt!
