Seeing Rani Mukerji as a ruthless inspector is Mardaani 2 has got everyone excited. The team released the trailer of the film day before yesterday and has been getting a great response from the audience. But it looks like the film has already hit its first roadblock as Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla from Kota is upset about the film demeaning the city of Kota.
It all started when on Friday Kota residents went up to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, an MP from Kota, to register their protest against the forthcoming Rani Mukherjee film – Mardaani 2. Their concern was the portrayal of Kota, an educational hub with many educational centers, as a different story in Mardaani 2. The people said that the film shot in Kota shows a different story of the city which is against the city’s legacy.
For those who haven’t seen the trailer yet, it is a story that shows a serial rapist and murderer targeting young girls in Kota. It also mentions that the film is inspired by true events where Rani Mukerji aka Shivani Shivaji Roy vows to catch the serial rapist in two days.
