The film was fresh and vivacious, serenely romantic and a perfect blend of artistic beauty with a tint of life. He was finally established as the official future of Bollywood and the next BIG thing. His portrayal was childlike and he successfully held himself in the skin of the character.
Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year was an earnest film which won hearts of many critics. He performed with an infectious excitement and mirth that shows his passion for work and his pleasure of doing films.
Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti was crucial in shaping his career. He came out of his boyish charming roles and acquired a more serious stance. The film was a blockbuster and his role was pivotal to the film. He plays his role to shrewd perfection, retaining his sensitive side strongly and maintaining the myriad shades of grey in his character. He perfected the art of minimalism and his eyes spoke more than his dialogues, the pain, the anguish and it all.

Imitiaz Ali’s Rockstar was a musical drama which won him Two Filmfares at the 57th Filmfare Awards. The movie was a saga of passion and romance of a musician, conveying the pain of lovers who are estranged, bound in the shackles of society’s rules. The film belonged to Ranbir and he had earned it to his credit giving an enthralling and riveting performance.
Anurag Basu’s Barfi! is the new hit in his kitty. The movie is sweet romantic comedy inspired vastly by Charlie Chaplin’s genre of silent humor. The film was loved by critics and audience. Though there are a few negative reviews on the film, any viewer would love watching for its sheer magical beauty.
Ranbir is doing better than best at the work front. 2013 will see him opposite his ex, Deepika Padukone in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. Their relationship was constantly under media scrutiny and so was their break up; and hence there is a great deal of hype surrounding the film. He will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet opposite Anushka Sharma.
