The young Kapoor lad – Ranbir, is all set to revive his family’s production banner RK Films. Once deemed to be most prevailing one in the tinsel town, the production house has been ignored continuously for many decades due to the lack of an able manager at the helm of affairs. Ranbir Kapoor who recently decided to team up with his Barfi! Director Anurag Basu, the early reports clearly suggest that the banner’s first film won’t be the Kishore Kumar biopic.
However, Anurag Basu is currently working on a fascinating script that revives Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary fictional character Sherlock Holmes, placing it in a contemporary set up. Basu, who is heavily influenced by Satyajit Ray’s Feluda, is intending to making a character based on the same and adding some commercial Mission Impossible elements to it.
The film temporarily titled Jagga Jasoos will see actor Ranbir Kapoor play detective for the first time in his career. Introducing versatility in his roles, the actor is always game for fresh roles and characters.
According to a leading daily, the film will be packed with all elements of a blockbuster – with music and some minimal action. The film is expected to go on floors mid next year and is mainly in its scripting stage. Ranbir Kapoor with his suave looks will surely look intriguing in the role of a detective.
