Looks like with the Bakrhagate, 2G and Aadarsh society scandals, Raj Thackeray isn’t getting enough attention. Because the MNS chief has recently made Central Board of Film Certification chief, Sharmila Tagore, his latest target.

Sharmila Tagore, Raj Thackeray

The fiery leader has written to Sharmila Tagore saying she would be held responsible if films released henceforth refer to Mumbai as Bombay. In the letter he explained that the Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi starrer Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai had many places where Mumbai was referred to as Bombay. “We did not object as it was a period film and during the period shown in the movie there was no decision to rename Bombay. However, even recent movies continue to make references to Mumbai as Bombay which is not acceptable,” he wrote.

Raj insisted that it he was not going to hold directors or producers responsible for such reference, but Tagore as the films are certified and cleared by the board she heads.

Karan Johar’s Wake Up Sid was also in trouble as the movie referred to ‘Bombay’ rather than ‘Mumbai’. Raj Thackeray and his MNS halted the screening of his film at some cinema halls and desisted only after Karan issued an apology.
