Raaz 3 May Not Clash With Joker Or Barfii

Emraan Hashmi is in an enviable position today as far as his box-office standing is concerned. However he is not allowing his continued success to take the shape of arrogance. This means that despite enjoying the patronage from his loyal audience, he isn’t drawing any battle lines with a senior star like Akshay Kumar or a peer like Ranbir Kapoor, both of whom are planning to bring their respective films on the same day as his Raaz 3.

“As of now, both Joker and Barfii are vying for the same date that Raaz 3 picked for itself months back”, informs an insider, “31 August is an important date since it is the next open slot available after Salman strikes with Ek Tha Tiger on Eid. No one would want to relinquish this spot but if Akshay and Ranbir continue to fight it out between themselves, Emraan won’t join the ring. He would rather wait, watch and decide instead of being adamant”, says a friend of Emraan.

There is a strong reason behind that as well. Years back his Awarapan had clashed with Apne and Aap Kaa Surroor and had failed badly at the box office. Though it is unanimously agreed that the film boasts of one of Emraan’s finest performances, the fact that not many saw it in theaters badly hurt him and his mentors Bhatts.

“Since then it was decided by them that all clashes would be henceforth avoided instead of ego coming into picture”, the friend continues, “Even though Emraan’s stocks are really high today and are further expected to soar with Jannat 2 and Shanghai releasing in the interim, he would not like any bad blood by taking Joker or Barfi heads on. If both decide to stay and there is a better and open slot available for a later date, he wouldn’t mind moving ahead his Raaz 3.”

On contacted, Mukesh Bhatt said, “As a producer, I am a businessman first. There is no room for ego. I am flexible with my plans even though I booked the dates first. Let others decide first what they wish to bring and on which date. I would then take a call accordingly.”
