Priyanka Chopra Called Out By A Twitter User For Endorsing Fairness Products & Backing #BlackLivesMatter

Ever since the brutal murder of African American George Floyd has been bought to news, celebrities across the globe have been campaigning for change. One of them is our much loved Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra. Ever since the actress took to her social media handle to lend her support to protests over George Floyd’s killing, she has been brutally trolled.
There is a certain section of the society that has been calling out Priyanka Chopra for keeping mum on color and gender bias in Bollywood. On the other hand, a certain section has bashed Priyanka for playing the minority and brown card in the US but promoting fairness creams back home (India).

In a similar instance, a certain Twitter user has now pulled up an old interview of Priyanka Chopra where the actress claims that she has never endorsed fairness products in her entire career. The fan has shared several ad-clips of PC endorsing fairness brands.
The video interview features Priyanka Chopra saying, “I’m dusky myself and I’m very proud to be dusky myself. I would never go around and say, ‘You need to become fair and that’s the only way you will become beautiful because I don’t endorse that.'”
The user has captioned the tweet saying, “How can she be so blatantly hypocrite?”
The video has been wildly viral on the microblogging site, with many trolls target towards Priyanka Chopra and her alleged hypocrisy. While one user commented, “@priyankachopra can be a perfect ambassador for hypocrisy. 1) She says black is beautiful. 2) She puts black makeup and star in a fairness cream and to make money, which means black is not good. 3) she RTs #BlackLivesMattter. Oh, n her series Quantico also had a Hindu terrorist”, another said, “All those celebrities who endorse fairness products shouldn’t be allowed to utter anything in support of Black people”.
