After the phenomenal success of Raajneeti in India, Prakash Jha’s fame has spread worldwide. A Film Festival of director Prakash Jha’s films is being held in the Republic of Fiji since 18th August 2010 to 21st Aug’2010. The Festival is being organized by the Fiji National University, Fiji Audio Visual Commission, Damodar Brothers and the Indian High Commission in Fiji.
Fiji Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimar inaugurated the Festival on the 18th of August. Prakash Jha is already in Fiji and is bowled over by the response to his movies, “I’m overwhelmed with the response the film has had internationally. I’m amazed that a film with this kind of context is appealing to so many people and getting acclaim from critics world over.”
The festival opened with his latest hit ‘Raajneeti’: a political thriller starring Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Ajay Devgan and Ranbir Kapoor. His films Gangaajal, Apaharan, Mrityudand, Parinati and Damul will also be screened during the festival.
This isn’t the first time this ace director works have been showcased overseas; a retrospective of Prakash Jha’s films was held at Nehru Center in London in June. ‘Raajneeti’ and ‘Damul’ will also be played at the BollywoodFEST at Norway in September.
