Plot: Rajat Kapoor, an American citizen of Indian origin, loses all his wealth overnight to the global recession & has to vacate his home unless he pays up $100,000 (mortgaged amount) within 30 days. Rajat packs his bags and returns to India to sell a small piece of ancestral property. But within days of landing in India he is kidnapped by a ‘recession-hit’ underworld gang those who think that he is still a millionaire.
What happens to Rajat; is he able to save his home, how does the ‘poor’ gangster cope with their ‘poor’ catch and what do small town Indian gangsters have to say to President Obama forms the rest of the story.
Box-Office Expectations: ‘Phas Gaye Re Obama’ is not a very well-publicized film and cannot expect an opening of the box-office. The makers will have to depend on word-of-mouth.
