Emraan Hashmi, who’s proved time and again that he isn’t far from the big league of actors given his stupendous success at the box-office, is now up on his star rating quotient with the recent string of hits added to this track record. This time around with the trade vouching for him as one of the most saleable stars in the industry today, Emraan is here to prove yet again that he is the “darling of the masses” with the crime thriller Rush.
Also starring Neha Dhupia and Sagarika Ghatge, the film revived by Percept Picture Company and creative director Priyanka Desai, sees Hashmi play the charismatic and investigative journalist Sam who plunges into a vortex of violence in a deadly cat and mouse game.
Talking about the film, Emraan Hashmi says, “I was blown away by Shamin’s script. It’s a film I’m very excited about and something I’ve never done before. I found a journalist’s life tough. I play an investigative crime journo in a news channel.”
The thorough professional that he is, Emraan Hashmi also went out of his way to accommodate the film without inconveniencing the team post the tragic loss of the director. Confirms producer Shailendra Singh of Percept, “Emraan has gone out of his way to accommodate the film purely out of sentimental reasons. We all wanted Shamin Desai’s dream to come true.”
Percept Pictures and Shamin Desai‘s Rush is scheduled to release second half of 2012.
