People’s Choice Awards 2019, in ‘The Most Inspiring Asian Woman of 2019’ category for all the amazing work she has done. People were quite happy for Alia being nominated for the award.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t bag the award and lost it to South Korean singer-songwriter CL. While this may not be a good news for all her fans, let us tell you that Alia was the only Indian to feature on the list along with seven other nominees. Biggies like Asian stars Zhou Dongyu, South Korean actor Jung Yu-mi, Thai actor Praya Lundberg, Indonesian actor Raline Shah, Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna and also Thai model Chutimon Chuengcharoensukying were also nominated for the award.
Alia Bhatt made it to the list because of her several accomplishments as a Bollywood actress and singer. She was recognized for the complex characters she brought to life on the big screen and her campaigns for the welfare of street animals through were also the reasons why she was nominated for the award. Alia’s initiative and contribution to raising awareness for various environmental causes was also another reason why she earned her a spot in the nominations.

Talking about the winner, CL, she is best known for her song “The Baddest Female” on earth made it to the list for her rule-breaking music and serving as an inspiration to women to love themselves and break beauty norms.
On the work front, Alia will be next seen in Brahmastra. She is also working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on her first film with the director titled Gangu Bai. She is also a part of Karan Johar’s magnum opus Takht.
