There has been a lot of noise around Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming projects. After delivering a hattrick of success last year, the superstar is all set to star in King alongside daughter Suhana Khan. New updates on Pathaan 2 have surfaced on the internet, and there’s good and bad news. Scroll below for all the details!
Pathaan marked the comeback of Shah Rukh Khan in Bollywood after the Zero debacle. What a smashing entry it was, with worldwide box office collections of 1069.85 crores. The streak continued with Jawan and Dunki, making SRK reclaim his position as the biggest star in Indian cinema.

As per a new report by Peeping Moon, Yash Raj Films (YRF) has started the work on Pathaan 2. Shah Rukh Khan will be reprising his role as an RAW agent and joined by his leading lady, Deepika Padukone. Fans were concerned about whether the actress would return since she’s pregnant and will soon take maternity leave. But it looks like the makers have worked it all out, and we will indeed witness Rubai in the sequel.

While that is the good news that has left us elated, there is also sad news. Siddharth Anand will be bidding adieu to the Pathaan franchise as the director. Even if one looks back at the War and Tiger franchise, Aditya Chopra makes sure to change directors with every new installment to bring fresh approaches and ideas. However, the new filmmaker is yet to be finalised.
The report further suggests that Shah Rukh Khan and Pathaan 2 team will go on floors by the end of this year. It is unknown how and when Deepika Padukone will join them.

It is to be noted that Siddharth Anand is not leaving the YRF spy universe. The director will be helming the biggest film, Tiger vs Pathaan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan pitting against Salman Khan. The filming schedule is yet to be decided, given the focus is currently on the sequel of Shah Rukh Khan’s solo film.
The journey started with Ek Tha Tiger. After the massive success of Salman Khan’s action flick, YRF worked on its sequel, Tiger Zinda Hai and Tiger 3. Hrithik Roshan joined the universe with War. SRK is the latest entrant.
Alia Bhatt will also be leading a franchise directed by Shiv Rawail. Sharvari joined her as a super agent. Rumors suggest Bobby Deol will return as a spine-chilling villain after his kickass portrayal in Animal.
